for those of us who don`t Multi Play, are anti social, reclusive, and just play the AI.

I`ll start with a question, the Manual says under Siege Engines/Cannons..page 68 " need to be close enough to be in range but not so close as to be attacked by towers.."

So since they can`t move after you start the battle how do you know whats " in range but not close to be attacked by the towers.." ?

    TIA

    Welcome aboard.

Yes, at the setup phase of your attack, once a siege unit is selected you can hold the cursor over the intended target and determine twhether the target is in range (green arrow = in range, red arrow means out of range, a la Shogun).

Yes....yes they are... They are quite devestating at range (when they hit which is about 25% of the time) the closer the enemy the more accurate. I had to test the custom battle to find this out (not far enough in the actual campaign to have gunpowder weapons...and kind of scared when that happens since the golden horde shows up at around the same time).
