I just finished my first campaign (Teotonic) and I have over 12 hours in it. I was up to two AM and did not realize it.
I know a lot of folks have complaints about the game. My only complaint is no sleep!![]()

Yeah, I could voice the same... I played last night from 9 PM to 3 AM, getting up at 7 AM to get to work...
So i'm a bit down under at the moment...

I also have a big complaint (for vanilla, no Kingdoms yet). I got a sore neck from playing almost a whole night. Not to mention lack of sleepOriginally Posted by joe4iz

12 hours, is that it![]()
When i used to play Rome a couple of years back, My sessions could last days if i had enough smoke and beer![]()
It would be the same here if the lady would only let me but I think that if I put more than 6-7 hours at a stretch, it's a divorce case...Originally Posted by Jasper The Builder

I play at night when she sleeps and lie about the hour at which I get to bed (shame on me...)

I had this whole strategy which involved me playing on the 360 alot (any console would do) because "for me games are just a better form of TV" and (the real killer) "I really enjoy being able to spend time with my wife while gaming".
But of course the 360 is hooked up to the biggest and best TV in the house and the wife is a real addict for those daytime TV sitcoms. Evently I get myself banished back to my PC so that she can watch TV. So I get to game in peace and it really it is all her idea...![]()
For a long time of my married life, I use to have a secret plan to find myself a job in the gaming industry, be it in a gaming magazine, development studio or website and have myself a permanent ultimate excuse – ”hey honey, I am bringing work home tonight and need to play...errr...work late again, sorry”.Originally Posted by Don Esteban
But alas, my career path took me elsewhere so later I employed a strategy that whenever I was torn away from a game I was addicted to at the time, I would talk about it constantly and in great detail, be it my latest conquest and strategy in RTS games or my adventures and character development in RPGs - until she got tired listening to me and said ”oh shut up and go play your stupid game already...”
Nowadays we have sort of unspoken agreement and reached a status quo – as long as I fulfill my fatherhood and husband responsibilities and the only thing I am sacrificing is my own sleep, I am free to play all nights long and unofficially allowed to drop dead the next morning or call in sick.
I am trying to not abuse this situation too much and save it only for games that really worth 12 hour long gaming sessions, red eyes and kids trying to remember who is this strange unshaved man walking around the house mumbling ”just...one more...turn/level/boss...”

Got my wife started on Second Life on the advice of a friend, which she actually plays a few hours a week even. Sorry for anyone who does play, but it's a detestable game model as I now have to convince her not to spend real money on 'Lindens' in the game.![]()
It does buy me time to play though!![]()
I bought my wife a laptop so she can do her postgrad work on it while I play TW games on the desktop
however because the laptop came with Vista and that conflicts with her remote access to the uni's network and stats software, she has to use the desktop anyway - doh!
so I installed RTW:BI on her laptop....

Come to the Throne Room to play multiplayer hotseat campaigns and RPGs in M2TW.
I'm hearing you there mate, my missus is always screaming out at the top of her lungs while she is lying in bed wanting me to turn the computer off and come to bed.Originally Posted by Don Esteban

I think I might take Barvas' advice and start talking about the game in depth, its a sure winner! She'll tell me to #$%#^$ off and play the #$%^$% game.
Thanks Barvas you may have just saved my relationship with my m2tw.

I always tell my g/f I could have worse hobbies like hookers or golf, and she is also addicted to CSI and Hollyoaks (UK soap) so I can usually get my hour a day.

My current tactic is to volunteer for every international business trip available so i can play on my laptop in the hotel at night![]()

I played all day Sunday.....from 1pm to 10pm. Not good ! This is how I was with Medieval 2.....and now I am again with Kingdoms. Damn CA and Sega !!
Doesn't work out that way, sadly.Originally Posted by barvaz

Want to know a secret? I have to spend more time making the darned things than playing them! ^_^
As for the wife, I'm lucky there. My wife and I play a number of games together, like Guild Wars. She enjoys watching over my shoulder while I play games like Neverwinter Nights 2 and Bioshock, and, past that, she likes time by herself as much as I do.
We just had our fourteenth anniversary. The secret to success is finding some way to accept what the other enjoys doing, instead of constantly fighting against it.
lol, i have installed it yesterday and listened only to teutonic and britania music by whole three hours.
I work at night. Wife works during day. Send kids to school, play 'till they get home!

I've done it again... Settle down for one or two hours playing M2TW and find myself looking at the watch... 3 AM ....![]()

Does any one know a good lawyer?
Looking at the sack for falling asleep again in work after another late night campaign
Wife divorcing me, naming MTW2 as the third party.
Kids can only remember me as the funny man who shouts 'why won't you charge damn you' at the computer
Crippled with a stiff back, neck and arms from being locked to the keyboard for hours on end.
Eyesight going staring at this tiny monitor
I reckon if I sue CA I should just be able to afford to upgrade my computer to play ETW when it comes out.
(If CA are reading this please disregard the above, please don't send your SEGA ninja's after me, with out TW i'd have to and get a......life, yikes)
