I've dl EB, now what ?

I gave in...
I utterly know my computer is going to lag me to death, but nevertheless I've downloaded EB.

I've read a lot about minimods/patches for EB. (citymod, money script...)
Which one would you EB users, recommend me ?

I would recommend AI Balancing script and the formations mod. You can get city mod, but it isn't exactly compatible with money script as far as I know (one overwrites some parts of the other).

Don't be so sure you're computer will lag btw...I have a celeron 2.7 gig with a radeon 9250 and 768 MB of Ram and I can play with large unit settings and most things turned up pretty high.

Turn off campaign shadows, follow ai, and go 16 bit color if you want to help speed things up.

I don't know about you guys, but if your going with larger unit sizes, I'd suggest you grab some chips and a fresh coke if you do a city assault. It's going to take awhile.

Yes, that's one thing that will make it lag....that's why I usually put the building detail on lowest....right now for my aar i upped it a little for the screenshots, but I still have hardly any noticeable lag, which is very surprising.

I did, I followed EB's installation thread to the letter
It works (yeah), it lags (after a couple of hours)
I'm currently finetuning my video options.

About minimods:
formation mod is a no-brainer, I'll get it ASAP
from what Bootsiuv said, it's either citymod or the money balance script, I shall investigate both threads before making my choice.

If you intend to play Rome 'til the Marian Reforms, I recommend Cunctator's First Cohort mod.

Well, you can have them both, but city mod has it's own money script (although it isn't as fine tuned as Redmeth's/mlp071's AI balancing script), so it matters what order you want them in. If you install city mod first, then ai balancing mod, you should be running the ai balancing mod's script, but you'll still have the city mods most important part, which limits city size depending on the city.

First Cohort mod is the base from which City mod was built, so if you get city mod, you'll have first cohort too.

alright, I've dl Redmeth/Mlp071 AI co-op balancing mod and Marcus Aurelius Antoninus' City Mod.

now, about formation mods, I've found two mods; Lysander13's zipped file and Mlp071's one.
Lysander13's gives the choice between Darth and Sinuhet formation mod.
I'm familiar with Darth formation but I don't know about Sinuhet.

Can anyone tell me the differences there might be between the two ?

Best thing to do friend is try them both and determine on your own which you prefer. Some prefer Darth..Some prefer Sinuhet...It's merely a matter of taste. To explain the differences would take too long; suffice it to say each is effective all things considered and are enjoyed by many fans of other popular RTW/BI mods that choose to implement one or the other in their respective mods.

I'm looking into the "force diplomacy" ATM.

once I settle my choice, I'll install those minimods one at a time and check if it works before going to the next one.

What do you reckon the minimum system requirements are to run everything on max and avoid lag?

You'd probably be good with 2 gigs of ram, 3ghz processor and a 256 mb upper end video card.

I don't see how if mine can run fairly well on large unit settings with everything turned up (I've even turned grass all the way up) and I have a 2.7ghz celeron with 768 ram and 128 mb lower end video card, that you would need much more to just go to huge settings. I may have actually said too much.
