I have it, it's a nice game, just tends to crash under Vista, not sure about whether the latest patch fixed that(last game I gave up when they attacked me before I even had an army, should start with easier enemies ).

If you liked the predecessors or just that kind of game, I think it won't disappoint you.
If your computer is capable, the graphics are also really nice.

Well I was looking for something as a replacement for Patrician , well not a replacement just something not so long and I had read an article that said there were similarities between the games . East India Company looked like it might be OK but that seems to be stalled in development .

Great game, better then 1503 and on the same level as 1602.

Graphically it's very good, but to get the best of the gameplay be sure to patch to 1.2, otherwise it's still a bit buggy.
It has a couple of things I don't really like, building roads and houses at the start is different from the older games, but you can set the settings differently.

The only minor flaw is that you can't ask prices in trade, all prices are fixed.
But if you see all goodness you look over that.

Anyway, God bless there are Germans
