Heya!
I'm well into my first Kingdoms campaign, playing the danes, or lately the Kalmar Union, in the Teutonic Campaign.
I glanced at a pdf posted here with the tech-tree for the campaign, and noticed some units specific for the Kalmar Union (Gotland footmen, Svenner and Sami Axemen I think).
The pdf indicated that a swordsmiths guild was needed to train Gotland footmen, which look sort of like Zweihanders. I have a swordsmiths in Prauge but can't build them. Do I need to go through the trouble of converting Visby to a castle and start pumping out Norse Swordsmen?
Svenner seems to be recruitable from a higher rank of stables, I'm not sure if I have the required building, but since I can't build the footmen there, I wonder if I can only recruit them in Sweden somewhere...
The Sami Axemen have been discussed in another thread, available as mercenaries on the isle of man in the britannica campaign? I haven't seen these at all in the Teutonic Campaign.
Has anyone managed to get these units after killing "the last king of norway" and everything?

I've seen the Sami as mercs (played as the Teutonic Order, don't ya just love those helmuts!

) in some of the northern areas on the mainland. I am not sure what factions get to recruit them.
Yeah I noticed that when I formed the Unoin of Kalmar, I couldn't find any of the new units even in the tech tree, does anyone have an idea on how to get them?
how to form this union?
The union is formed when the player (as denmark) controls the settlements of uppsala, goteland, visby, ado and kalmar (think thats all of them). You then get a message 'The Last Norwegian King' and basically when he dies you get a message asking you if you want to form the kalmar union. Accepting this means you take control of all of norways territory and units and should also grant access to the gotland footmen, sami axemen and svenna units, however it seems to be bugged.
'dr lummerkrog' over on the totalwar.com forums has come up with a solution that I believe works. It involves unpacking the teutonic campaign, editing 1 text file and creating a shortcut to look at the edited file (i think).
Details in this thread:

Had a go at it myself and the units appeared listed on the buildings in the building browser, swordsmiths guild for gotland footmen etc.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the tip!
Too bad I don't really have the free time to start my campaign from scratch again... How hard is this to test before releasing? argh.

Heh, now that I read his entire post I realize there's a way to do it without restarting your campaign. Sweet!
I asked because in my country the localized version of the game was relised on days and guys post that they got message that "denmark can claim now for sweden crown or smh" and they conquer all skandinavia and... nothing happens.

I willingly admit to sucking at using the unpacker and all, but I did read the readme first. Didn't say anything about deleting my saves hohoho. Oops. Oh well, back to the drawing board as they say... What did I do wrong?

You have to leave the Norwegians alone. If you conquer Norway before you get "the last Norwegian king" message no Kalmar Union.
