Pahlava Bodyguard Charge Question

Hi!
I am wondering about the following situation:
I love Pahlava Bodyguard Calvalry - they are probably the best cavalry in the game, however quite frequestnly I noticed that when I chare an enemy (light spearmen or other infantry that has been reduced in numbers) from behind or from the side while sort of going a bit down the hill, or simply on the hill going straight it is likely I will lose my general on the first charge. Sometomes he will be the only or one of the very few that die. So that's kind of strange.
It does not happen on the plain ground though.
What do you think?

I hit F just before the charging general unit makes contact. This cause him to stop and do the rally thing while the rest of the unit smashes into what ever its attacking

Yeah, I think I remember a long time ago when the general can use wedge formation(not in EB) He went right in the front of it :)

Maybe it's because the Pahlava general's stats are actually lousier than the kataphraktoi? Maybe it needs tweaking.

May be....but on the other hand it does not happen often.
I tried using the trick with F key... but in my case it caused the whole unit to stop charging right before they were supposed to hit...

Was your general in the unit? The F key trick only works if the commanding general is in the unit because he's the one with the rally ability...

Are your keys mapped the same as everyone elses. Sounds like you pressed the key for the halt command.

I am prettu sure it was... I usually have just one bodyguard/general type unit. I will try it again.

LOL. Thanks for pointing this out. Could be... I will check. Though I never changed anything in default key mappings.
