In principle yes. In fact, no.
I'll tell you for why: At home we must recycle this, should recycle that, never recycle the other. Very annoying, hard to follow and expensive.
At work nothing is recycled. Vast abouts of card and glass, more probably than our whole street produces, is simply dumped every week.
"Put 'em in blue coats, put 'em in red coats, the bastards will run all the same!"
"The English are a strange people....They came here in the morning, looked at the wall, walked over it, killed the garrison and returned to breakfast. What can withstand them?"
I recycle as often as possible.

Re: Pursuit of happiness
Have you just been dumped?
I ask because it's usually something like that which causes outbursts like this, needless to say I dissagree completely.
Some forms of recycling make sense, others do not. When paper is recycled as newsprint, it makes sense. When paper is recycled to higher white levels, the amount of bleach involved negates any benefit of recycling.
Recycling is a necessity, but you gotta do it in ways that make economic and environmental sense.

Welcome back Warman. Just so folks don't mistake this thread as spam, how about we expand the conversation?
Do you (anyone):
a. Set your recyclables out for the city to pick up and profit from? or do you
b. Collect your recyclables yourself, and haul them down to the recycle point, to make a few bucks ($1.75 per pound for my aluminum beer cans)?
I do "b".
Be well. Do good. Keep in touch.
I think recycling should be required, and to that end it should be made easy to separate the trash from the recyclable goods. For example plastic goes in one pile, glass in another, trash in the last.
EDIT: I forgot about paper, that should get its own pile too! And as Lemur says it needs to make economic and environmental sense. Recycling for the sake of recycling is idiotic.
