    Default Planned upgrade...any help apreciated

    Heya,
Right MTW II's been working aboslutely fine since I got it yonks ago but the battles have always been a bit "sticky" (i.e they run but are pretty jerky when there are more than 100 soldiers on each side). Ive finally come into some cash and want to upgrade to stop this but would like ot know which is most likely for causing it.

My Graphics card (which is 128MB which the case states is enough)

    or

My RAM (I've got just under 800MB)

Any advise would be apreciated...plus if its the graphics card, which ones would work and not cost me too much :D

Take it with a grain of salt, but if it was me I'd upgrade the RAM and lower the graphics settings.

It would be better to state your whole machine's specifications for more accuracy. My advice would be to upgrade your RAM and the video card, but of course this advice is inaccurate.

Best check how much your mobo can handle first, if you can manage it I'd get 2 of those sticks.

If you're in the UK you can check out novatech as well, just google it.

Compaq? I would have to assume it would be more difficult to find hardware to upgrade the machine since it is common that such apparatuses prebuilt or assembled by companies allow for little maneuvering, as far as I recall at least.

Indeed, as said, check the motherboard and such. Personally, I think I would rather purchase a whole new machine preferrably a "clone" (that's how I like to call them ). Basically I mean a machine not pre-assembled/prebuilt but a machine whose parts you carefully select to customize as you see fit.
