Could someone give the differences between the Crossbowmen, Arbalest, Pavise Arbalest, and Pavise Crossbowmen

Do the shields that the Pavise troops carry offer a significant advantage. And what is the significant difference between crossbows and arbalests?

Yeah, the shields help, arbalests have a longer range, decent against horse cavalry as you outrange them.
