Default I'll never go hungry again!!!

After almost destroying the Chichemecs (after 30 turns of stalemate, which only went my way when I got my mounted thunder braves...) I then went on to fight the Tarascans - who caught between the rampant Apacheans and my allies the Aztecs then became my vassals. I offered them 15,000 florins, which they accepted..on the following turn I found I now had 500,000 florins in the bank and the Tarascans were now virtually bankrupt with my erstwhile Aztec allies breathing down their feathered necks...

Has anyone else had such a pleasant, similar experience? Money of course, is now no longer a problem! With my experienced armies now all poised on the Aztec/Tarascan borders I now have to protect my vassals against literally 30 stacks of jaguar and eagle warriors!

Yes. Money, at least as Apaches, is meaningless near the endgame. I'm bringing in about 50k a turn with around 26 territories. Which also means I can pump out my units by the hundreds (a couple stacks a turn is always fun, all routed to the southern front as they are created ^_^)

Though I'm surprised you took the vassalage... Just kill them and be done with it.

Honor, Benandorf is the thing. Pale faces speak with forked tongue (well French anyway...) whereas the Apache's word is bond. (though we like their guns and horses). The Tarascans asked us to protect them - and it gave us a good pretext to take on the Aztecs with some Tarascan muscle in support!

Even when you finish off a tribe, I find you don't clean out their treasury the same way - have you found this? In 8 months of playing Medieval Grand Campaign I've never scored such a large sum. As you say though, money is not an issue for Apacheans.

How do you find the battle between the American tribes Benandorf? I find that due to the large numbers and low armour/high attack strength they're particularly bloody affairs - unless I'm able to stand off and blow them apart with my mounted thunder braves.

You playing on VH/VH? I did find the Chichimecs quite challenging - more so that the Grand Campaign. The French too were hard, though they never use their cavalry effectively.

Kept on getting warnings about the English landing - never seemed to find them though. Perhaps the natives were more restless than they expected.

The English land in the lower right corner of the map (South Yucatan). They have almost the same units as the French. They will have some hard fighting with the Mayans before them before they are able to meet (ah hum) you.
