I am currently playing the Brittania and the Americas campaigns... I just couldn´t resist just starting one...![]()
Wondering what other people do, playing one campaign at the time (to the end) or starting up multiple campaigns (like me, because too impatient...)?

I won't purchase it until something gets done about the Securom issue. I'm a long-time fan of the TW games (bought STW soon after release) and long-time lurker here and I'm choosing to post about this issue, which means I care about it a great deal.
Once something gets sorted about Securom I'll buy the expansion. Until then it'll be the original campaign and X3 for me.

P.S. I really hope they *do* do something about the Securom issue! I'd be sad to give up on a game series I've enjoyed for so long, though it's not like I have much time for games anymore.
I know this isn't the appropriate place, but I haven't had SecuRom mess up my gaming experience at all - nor mess with my pc in any other (notable) way.
Also, I don't see Sega doing anything about SecuRom in the near future really, as it's designed to combat piracy and all that.

I have it.
Americas campaign is unbelievably fun, Britannia is great, Teutonic feels like more of the same stuff as vanilla, and I haven't played crusades enough to really comment, but it also feels like more of the same for anyone who's played turks or egypt in vanilla.
Overall, I'd say it was worth $30. Americas campaign is probably the most fun I've had in any TW game, and would be worth the $30 alone in my opinion. The others are just a bonus.

I don't have it yet, I was waiting for christmas but if the securom thing isn't fixed I don't think I'd get it.
A ha ha! Rainbows and unicorns! Rainbows and unicorns!
love TW since Shogun came out but i will not be buying this game due to SecuRom, a shame really but i don`t want that stuff on my computer.![]()
Catapultam habeo. Nisi pecuniam omnem mihi dabis, ad caput tuum saxum immane mittam!
Probably won't buy it.
No significant new features that made me want to buy it and ofcourse securom. Won't buy it with securom, might consider buying it again if it's removed, but even then the new content doesn't excite me much.
I was going to wait a few months to buy it, but with everyone here talking about it I was getting anxious not knowing what everyone was talking about.
A week ago I broke down and bought it so I could join the club.
I'm not worried about securerom. As for the "uninstallable" thing, i don't uninstall things - I reinstall windows (from a HDD image). I don't see what the big deal is, Daemon tools was running during Kingdoms install and every launch, and I even didn't realize it (because I rarely use it) until I read someone saying Securerom will incinerate your hard drive or something if you use dtools. Hmmm, look at that i said, dtools has been in my tray the whole time, no problems.
Haven't bought Kingdoms nor the original game yet. Seeing how m2 was brought out I thought I'd wait for CA to really bring their game to a finished state and then (probably) buy both in the same. No more unbalanced, buggy games for me thank you. Prefer the game as it was planned to be on the drawingboard. And I doubt wheter I'm the only one buying this game from the 'bargain bin' once it gets til that point. And who knows, perhaps Sega will drop securom by that time (thumbs up) as there's little point having it by that time (never was actually, I believe).
Anyways, curious about Empire too. We'll see soon enough how the latest title will be dealt with. Hopefully better than the latest title, a little optimism can't hurt you.
I bought it, didn't know about securom till after I'd installed. Having a great time playing through the Britannia campaign though. Only peeked at the other campaigns, not started any others.
Totally agree with these. The games have been awesome and I like the variety of play. I think someone mentioned that the Teutonic campaign is similar to Vanilla M2TW and I agree, but still the best TW game around....Originally Posted by King Bob VI

Swords Made of Letters - 1938. The war is looming in France - and Alexandre Reythier does not have much time left to protect his country. A novel set before the war.
A Painted Shield of Honour - 1313. Templar Knights in France are in grave danger. Can they be saved?
Have it, love it. It's perfect for me with all these different campaigns, the most difficult part was deciding which one to use first. It's laughable all these people waiting until "securom" is fixed, because, a) it won't be "fixed" and b) it doesn't matter.
"No Plan survives Contact with the Enemy."
I'm planning to get it next week. Wasn't going to get it before of the Securom thing, but my lovly Stig convinced me to buy it, and really I feel stupid about myself even worrying about Securom, I just realized 3 other games I installed have it too, and nothings wrong with my computer.
"I thought CA was unarmed? Unless he got some samurai swords or something... I only got some rocks and some sticks." Shlin in BR realizing he has no weapons what so ever.
Bought it before finding out about secuROM and actually liked what I did play in it.
After installation started having problems in other games that didn't have problems before Kingdoms was installed. Found out about secuROM.
Attempted various posted methods to try and rmove SecuROM and none worked. Full system wipe later and no "Total War" products are ever going on a hard drive of mine again.
It doesn't matter to me if it was Sony or CA, all three of us lose on this because of SecuROM.
I've bought Kingdoms but I'm not going to play until I kill those nefarious Turks.Until then Kingdoms (and Empire) does not exist in the world.
Through the ages every weapon has evolved from two basic design philosophies, either a rock or a sharp pointy stick.

I haven't bought it and won't until they remove SecuRom from it. I wish I could, since I have every Total War game beginning with Shogun, and the expansion sounds like a lot of fun too.

I started reading this post and got interested hearing how most people seemed to love the expansion - (please say why though !!).
But my heart sank when I heard all this stuff about securerom. Ive just managed to finally get rid of starforce drivers from my system that screwed up my dvd drive physically (for those that dont know starforce - do a simple google and youll find all the info you need). Because of starforce I couldnt play half my games and had to buy a new dvd drive and do a full format (took days to get all my stuff off and then reload it.).
Because of this I sadly wont be getting the expansion, Im not going through all that crap again just because of company paranoia about copy protection, giving so called legit companies rights to do what they like to my pc - without knowing the full damage they cause (as was the case with starforce).
I'll keep lookin here for any more info on the matter :(

I also find it ridiculous that people are missing out on thsi great game because of the securom 'issue'. Why don't you people understand that it does absolutely nothing to your computer, if I hadn't read that thread then I would have never known about it and never would have needed to.
Anyway back to topic: I bought this brilliant game on release day and can say for ceratin that it is the best expansion CA or any other company has ever made (that I've played). The crusades has been my favourite so far and I'm stil enjoying it.
I think if u do a very simple google search on securerom you will find that this is not the only game suffering - not in the least. To pretend that just because you dont see anything detrimental happening - that nothing is, that is false security. Starforce acted in a way to slowly reduce the capabilities of physical dvd/CD drives over a long period of time - unoticable on a daily basis (source: http://www.glop.org/starforce/ - this is not and advert, and is not meant to sway opinion - its just a source link). With respect to you, I dont think blindly saying - it doesnt do me harm so its fine, hardly gives you the evidence that other people are being rediculous.Originally Posted by Bob_the_great
Yes Im sad I wont be playing kingdoms :( Anyho kudos to you for if it isnt affecting you. Im not taking that risk, but please do a simple searchon the net to see the 1000s that ARE having problems with it.
Would be still nice to hear from people to say why they love kingdoms so much. :)
