But isn't that what the sources tell us was the case with the native American factions? The conquistadors were faced with a seemingly endless number of enemy troops but managed to win through a combination of luck, good management, superior technology and, perhaps most of all, European diseases.

If the native factions didn't have a "nearly limitless supplies of troops", the game would be completely unrealistic.
