Eh, hardware changes do stuff like that. If you don't mind, a reinstall ought to fix that.

Thanks,CrossLOPER.
I don t have it installed at the moment, and I ve re installed several times. Sometimes it starts off acting normally, then after a few turns plays up again.

Just a shot in the dark here, but is your mouse fancy? Did it come with any software? Sometimes Logitech mice, for instance, come with software that lets the mouse do special tricks in applications.
Does your mouse require a special driver? Anything special about the interface between it and the OS?
I think you ve hit it, Lemur. I do indeed have a Logitech mouse. Do I change it, or can something be done with the "special tricks"?

I've never used Logitech's custom software, so I can't give you any meaningful advice. But here's my idea -- find any and all drivers related to the Logitech mouse, and uninstall them. Then re-install the driver for the mouse only. Don't re-install any other software.
I would rate this as having at least a 20% chance of fixing your problem.
I don't know how I missed that Lemur. NEVER USE SPECIAL SOFTWARE. Whether a mouse or monitor, don't use it.
