Given that we have 24 hr turns, I am not going to be able to fight Fritz' battle. I had planned to last night but RL got in the way. Again. Gah.

How long do you need? ie when would you be able to fight the battle?

I don't think there will be any defensive battles, so I could give you another 24 hours.

I'll be able to get to it tonight (i.e. by 5 AM GMT) If it fits the schedule somehow, I'd love to fight this one, but don't hold up the plot just for me.

That'll be fine. I've promised not to proceed faster than one turn per 48 hours so there will be no hold up.

    Battle fought and won.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

I put my pavise xbmen in loose formation and skirmished with the Polish Nobles. This worked great, but as soon as I advanced to envelop the main body, they fled even before the lines made contact. This might be explained by the fact that Joachim of Lwow, their leader, has had several runs in with Peter before and so has several negative command traits such as "afraid of the dark".

I apologize to AG for not giving them an authoritative crushing, but casualties were light for our side.

I'm reclaiming the save and will make some more moves, then post a new one for Tamur to use later.

All right, this save is for Overknight and/or Tamur.

    http://www.totalwar.org/patrons/pbm/kotr1304-7.zip

    New orders for Overknight

    Duke Arnold:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Call that a battle? That one does not count, mate. Get across that bridge and have at Joachim of Lwow.

The Krakow garrison may reinforce Joachim. You have the option to strike Joachim at night, when the garrison will be unable to assist in time. But if you do that, your army will be too tired to assault the city.

I recommend that you draw out the garrison and defeat both armies in a single battle. Do it decisively, and you can take Krakow this year in a coup de main. Show them what you are made of, elephant balls.

Deadline for fighting the two battles is 24 hours from now; if they are unfought by then, they will hold over to next year.

It's a leap of faith...inherent with all leaps of faith will be your acceptance of removing the "CONTROL FREAK" part of your personality at the front door.

Please note there will be a "CONTROL FREAK" detector test at the front entrance to assist you with this process.

Anyone trying to sneak their said; "CONTROL FREAK" characteristic into this session of the game will be ask to leave or strip down naked for a full cavity search so the removal of the said; "CONTROL FREAK" part of your personality can be done without incident.

Please note, those that successfully circumvent the security procedures in place will be easily identified as they will be having a REAL BAD TIME PLAYING THE GAME.

Those of you planning on doing this should be aware of this before hand.

You wont have fun if you follow the path you are taking.

Provocation? Why do some people not take Elberhard's friendly joshing for what it is?

And why are their two polls!!!??
It is not in character and has no political significance in the Diet. It's purely something in my neutral role as Gamesmaster. I am rolling dice for certain events and people's answers are being used to modify the results.

    First,

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

They again chose to deploy near the back of the map, but unfortunately for them it was at the bottom of the hill. I weakened them with arrow fire, charged the infantry from the front, and sent in most of the cav from the right flank. The Poles were gutted, but that slippery coward Joachim managed to make it back to Krakow.

I infiltrated the nearby spy (apologies for the presumption) and he managed to survive and open the gates.

    Second,

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

I must admit, I'm tired so I auto-calced the assault.

Krakow is ours. Despite hearing this terrible voice in my head telling me to exterminate, I sacked the place.

Eh. . .even butchering 18,000 people might be a bit much for Arnold. If it's any comfort AG, I executed all the prisoners.

Arnold wouldn't care even if he butchered 40,000 really

Am I the only one who has noticed the Egyptian Sultan and the Pope's adopted son sailing around on a ahip or two each, with large armies, in a lake near Jerusalem?

No, you are not. It's some whacky AI thing - nothing to do with us.

Thinking about it, I think I know how to remove the eyesore. Hopefully it will be gone next turn.

To be fair to Arnold he does have the "Fair in Rule" trait, which he got from occupying a city previously. I think it was when Budapest revolted, even.

Cecil XIX, I think you make a mistake in the names for your battle report, it should be Lorenz instead of Karl as your second, right?
