Wow, that was a fantastic reason to start a new thread. That's what I created the EB TAVERN for...
Anyways, the Casse are fun, although I haven't played too much with the "barbarian" factions.

I have to say, since I downloaded EB I've only played with the Romani. What can I say, red is the best colour, ever! But last night I tried something very left field. I loaded a Sweboz campaign. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that the music and interface are wonderful. They really do help to create the whole barbarian, bare knuckle, chest thumping experience of a bunch of filthy Sweboz (few anti-squalor buildings) trotting around northern European forests lopping heads off the whiny weaklings standing in their path. It's also a tad challenging getting anything resembling an economy off the ground.
This experience has inspired me to do two things: a) try out some of the other factions to enjoy what I've missed so far and b) to write an AAR. But these AARs do take a little time and effort, to be conservative.
I must still give the Casse a bash. Perhaps I'll use the Sweboz. ;-)
I can't get away with the Barbarian factions. I feel much more comfortable with the "civilised" Hellenes.
The uppity Romani maybe just qualify as civilised. Maybe.

That's the main reason why I have never really been too into the barbarian factions...I love the idea of leading organized, well armed troops into battle. The barbarians with their naked warriors don't really fit into that romantic ideal.
I do think I'm going to try them though...they're probably easier than the steppe factions anyways.

don't think I'll ever be a big barb fanatic because of the civ limitations with the barbarians.
sorry if the thread wasn't as deep or robust as some people thought it should be I didn't mean to be annoying or anything, but, I was getting ready to launch the game and play some more casse and I was really enjoying a different aspect of the game and thought I'd post and share how much I was enjoying it :)
as to what is so cool...I don't know precisely. I've been playing romani so long that starting with the casse and having to spend a lot of time focussing on infrastructure and only focussing on a small little region of the world to start with... it was just a slightly diferent speed and I was enjoying myself.........
I wish there was a way to multiplay the campaign and not just the battles...I could have my son play against me on the other computer.. He could be aduei (?sp) I could be aveni (sp) and we could ally and whoop some factions before turning on each other.....
come to think of it, gk's world campaign was multiplayer wasn't it?
oh, I see!
cool: a total variety of options concerning the main campaign with different factions, from units to buildings to expansion.
