    The frontroom is searchable.

    And its a special thank you from me to Cameron McKenna, as I now realise that, however bad my own awaydays seem to be, they are NOTHING compared to how awful they could be. Though I'd quite like to be let rip writing a three minute death metal number about how Lord Justice Jacob really sucks.
    Good stuff . CMS is best! (Woah-hoh!) Better than the rest! (Whoah-hoh!)

    There's only grumbling, so you can understand it anyway.

    Ja Mata, Tosa.

    The poorest man may in his cottage bid defiance to all the forces of the Crown. It may be frail; its roof may shake; the wind may blow through it; the storm may enter; the rain may enter; but the King of England cannot enter – all his force dares not cross the threshold of the ruined tenement! - William Pitt the Elder

    The Apple theme song.

    Because we needed proof that both Apple and Microsoft suck.

    Well, it's from a former Herald employee...so it might not be genuine, but it's close.

    Military industrial rock complex.

    Reinvent the British and you get a global finance center, edible food and better service. Reinvent the French and you may just get more Germans.

    Asera everywhere! [dead link]

    And lastly, there's not a web site that offers to create corporate anthems on demand. ABOUT DAMN TIME! I think maybe we should take up a collection to have them compose something stirring for the Org ...

    I know this thread is supposed to be trashy, so I don't know if this fits the theme. From what I can make out, the lyrics are supposed to have been written by one of their employees (presumably from an internal compeition), but more intriguingly, the melody is by Joe Hisaishi and it's sung by Inoue Azumi. For those familiar with anime, that's the combination in Hayao Miyazaki's Castle in the Sky, My Neighbour Totoro, and some of the image songs from Kiki's Delivery Service.

    Commemorating Denso Corporation's 45th anniversary, here's "Door to the Universe".

    "Door to the Universe" Lyrics

    * Today, feel the wind.
    Turn your face to the sun.
    How long has it been since you listened to the sounds of the earth?

    Right from the start,
    We knew it in our heart
    Anything was possible if only we believed. . . in ourselves.

    Make the dream come alive.
    It's time for us to decide...
    To stand in place or take a chance.
    We have the vision.
    We can make a difference...

    (Chorus)
    Open up the door to a universe beyond what you know.
    Take a step and touch a dream, just pick a star to follow.
    Possibilities -- no boundaries.
    Open up the door...open the door.

    Today, embrace the sea.
    Tomorrow, try dancing with the sun.
    Who knows how high we can fly, if only we try.

    This vast world.
    Full of challenges far and wide
    Face each test -- one step at a time.

    Make the dream come alive.
    It's time for us to decide...
    To stand in place or take a chance.
    We have the power;
    We've made the choice to...

    (Chorus)

    Open up the door to a universe beyond what you know.
    Take a step and touch a dream, just pick a star to follow.
    Possibilities -- no boundaries.
    Open up the door...DENSO.

    Open up the door to a universe beyond what you know.
    Take a chance to reach for your dreams and sing this song full of hope.
    Set your vision free -- no boundaries.
    Open up the door to DENSO -- DENSO.

    * Rough Translation

    Vocals: Azumi Inoue
    Music: Joe Hisaishi
    Lyrics: Yoko Nakao

    Corporate Anthem necromacy.

    I think it's undeniable that the Asian economies are the past and future masters of the corporate anthem. Daehan Tong Eun: This Korean freight company’s solemn hymn, which claims its employees are “rewriting history,” is patriotic and the video features a lot of trucks.
