Well said senator Magnus, I think i should revise the rules a bit. I'll get onto it now, but I hope at least some of you will hang around. At the very least come back on tuesday, as by then I think I will have easily conquered Italia. And remember that this will take time, and as someone mentioned before, the first turn will be the longest, due to the fact that i cant play the game thanks to a huuge mistake involving getting rid of Barbarian Invasion, but tomorrow after school one of my mates will lend me a cd i burned for him. much thanks for the input and all!

Are there any latin-speaking people in here ?
I'd like to turn "Poulp, the aquatic turnip" into latin

A Full legion should have a core of 4 Hastati, 4 Principies, 2 Triarai, One General, One Tribune, 2 Eqvities, 2 Leves, Two Aceni, and Two Rorarai in ideal circumstances, however as ocasion offers, the lesser Roman troops could be swapped for local and italian allies, and the Extrodinaties.

((Trust me, a legion like this is very near unbeatable (Roman heavy infantry is supierior), but should be changed according to local troops))

To roleplay against the small stacks the AI uses, I make a legion 2 has, 2 pri, 1 tri, 1 lev, 1 acc, 1 ror, 2 equ, and 1 gen. I usually want to have a wide front line so I can have reserves so I bring in a couple of allied troops and place them on the flanks. A consular legion for me is 4 has, 4 pri, 2 tri, 2 equ, 1 gen, 4-5 Samnite Heavy Infantry, and 3 light infantry.

If this, you dithering fools, is what has become of our senate, then let us either be cast into the cauldron of most violent civil war, or else be ruled by a dictator - one that may keep a degree of focus within these halls!
Some of you are yet old enough to remember, that we decreed we should never be lesser than slight and tunneled men, those such cattle that we do neighbour in the Alps.
Yet these stock do hold more direction and purpose in their teachings and their words, than we, here in our courts of mortar and all luxuries adored, can generate from the meetings of educated men!

There are many here, who do, in their mantles and charismatic smiles, yearn to be thought of as worthy tribunes of the Roman people.
Yet, when they do utter speech from these smirks so vain, it were apt they could be replaced with any from the commonality, and then their position in our Senate be well kept!

We stand about here in expectance of expanding ourselves and our city's influence, but we do not converse in the manner of nobile but in the same dialects I do hear my children play with.

How do we, noble Senators, communicate to this world that our most pristine Rome, and no other, is to be the sovereign of our Italica and beyond, when we can not yet communicate amongst ourselves, here in this forum?

Clearly our good friend hear believes that any orator, if not learnt in Athens or Rhodes is unworthy of listening to?
Well what about the People of Rome?
Every single citizen speaks plain, and their words carry just as far as the Nobles!

If a Senator cannot speak in such a way that a average Pleb cannot understand him, then he should be stripped of office as he is unworthy of Rome.

For Roman virtue is not measured by eloquence, but strength in arms, bravery, and a love of our Glorious Republic!

    Ave, senatores

I concur with the proposal to remove the Epirotii from our backyard, Italia for Italians!!!!,(not treacherous, effeminate Hellens)
I do believe, however, that slaughtering them out of hand is a bit extreme, after all, are we not civilized men? That said, we should teach them in no uncertain terms that attempting to usurp Italian lands from their proper inhabitants will not be met with leniency or mercy, I propose we enslave the majority of the men of military age and women of childbearing age, leaving the children to be distributed to proper Roman families to be raised as proper Italians, and the grandparents...f*&k 'em, they are too old to make a difference anyway, and they would be useful to keep around to tell any of the young ones that get any "bright" ideas of independence how bad it was for the city when the Legions came marching in.

    Ave

    Titus Sept. Pulcher

oops...just realized this is in the boneyard...oh well, it was fun to act like an arrogant rich Roman for a minute...now you Romans will PAY (as I continue my Epeiros campaign, heheheh)
