Talking CTD loading battles in Kingdoms Americas

Has anyone else had this problem? Since installing Kingdoms, when I load a battle, I sometimes get a CTD. It sometimes happens before the loading screen (w/ quotes and screenshots) even appears, and sometimes at happens as soon as I click "start deployment."

The only work around seems to be to reload a save, move the character and re-initiate the battle. I've tried searching here and on the WWW too, but no dice.

CTDs aside, this Americas campaign is beautiful and magnificent. All hail the culverin!

So I just found this in the readme file:

    -------------------------
ATI graphics card machine crashing on battle map under XP

If this happens to you, this is caused by having an old version of .NET
    installed.

Please make sure you have .NET 3.0, found on www.windowsupdate.com

Just in case someone stumbles on this thread search the forums.

Arg... I am still having this issue. I updated to .NET 3.0, uninstalled and re-installed Americas, and it's still happening.

    Any ideas?

Final note, again just in case someone finds this thead so they get the answer too.

I got my Kingdoms working finally, but what I had to do was:

    1) Uninstall all 5 kingdoms installs.
    2) Uninstall M2TW completely.
    3) Update to .NET 3.0
    4) Re-isntall M2TW.
    5) Update M2TW to the 1.2 patch.
    6) Reinstall Kingdoms.

Good idea to back up any saves and preference files too.
