    Default extreme slow

    hallo guys,

i installed EB v.81.a. It didn't bother me waiting 10 minutes for loading the programm. :)

But playing a campaign seems to be impossible. Even just clicking on a city/settlement takes a minute of waiting till the city window popps up.

I really don't have an idea what the problem is.

Okay, i just have a 1,3 ghz processor and a onboard graphic card but playing the regular tw 1.6 bi is not a problem.

Does anybody have an idea? Thanx in advance...!

Sorry, EB requires a lot more resources than vanilla RTW/BI. 1.3 GHz CPU just won't cut it, probably, and the onboard GFX also is a detriment. You have of course tried to set all options to the lowest quality, I presume?

How much RAM do you have? That seems to be the most important factor in EB. 1GB works good for XP and 2GB for Vista (I have 3GB)

The first 10 min or so tend to be very slow as things are loaded into memory but it speeds up after that.

Also, turn off campaign shadows and Follow AI

Thank you for your quick responses! Well I have just 512 kb...

But it is really surprising that even on the campaign map it is so slow...

Well okay, then i don't kno there is nothing i can do about it beside buying a new computer... ;)

gfx will help most with the campaign map. RAM will help most with faster loading times.
