Way back when I installed EB, I installed it over 1.6. (I had BI installed and just copied the folder then installed EB into the copied folder) Anyway, it has always worked. However, load times are excedely high when compared to Vanilla and after sometimes after I've played for a while, the game play actual becomes stuttery on the main campaign map. Is this a result of installing over 1.6 and not over 1.3.

Was wondering if the eb team ever considering doing a eb type mod for the BI scenerio. I really like this scenerio but feel like I need a shower after playing the vanilla game
(if not, does anybody know of a good BI mod?)

    thnx.

-Time to dispatch the KH faction in EB romani campain. (They had teh stupid tamarity to bribe one of my un-govenered spanish provinces and now they have felt the wrath of Rome; they are down to two provinces, sparta and one other) Think I'll take out Epirotes while I'm at it for allying with KH and also tehy have some prime coastal lands. I like coastal lands because they bring killer income.

    Thumbs up Re: 2 questions

I hate to be rude, but try not asking the EB Gods to do any more work than they already are. I mean, they're all stressed out right now as it is with the load of work they're doing, what with staining their sweat and blood(and tears) into this mod.

    fine speech, huh?

We may have lots of work on our hands, but we appreciate having someone value the sort of thing we're doing. I can't personally recommend any BI mods, I haven't had the chance to play any. Perhaps someone will be able to suggest one.

1- There shouldn't be any difference between using RTW or BI. BI isn't your problem. (By the way it would be v1.5 not v1.3. EB requires 1.5/1.6.

2- The EB team does work on this time period because it is the time period liked by the team. There won't be a BI timeframe EB.

However, if you want a more challenging BI game with some historical accuracy, try out Invasio Barbarorum. And if you like the dark ages try out Arthurian : Total War.

No, this is just because EB is as extensive as it is - the engine wasn't really designed to process such large text files. If you want to get rid of the "stuttering," then the only options you have are to either find a smaller mod or upgrade your computer. I used to get major slowdowns after exactly two battles, and the initial splash and loading screen took over 8 minutes all up to complete (this wasn't too bad; I normally just spent this time doing something else). After upgrading my PC, the "stuttering" practically stopped and the loading times were cut down extensively.

If you're at all interested in Tolkien, Fourth Age Total War is very good. Version 1.9 "Forth Eorlingas" was a blast, and the 2.0 "New Shadow" version should be even better (I had some sort of problem with my install, I think).

    Agreed.
As for the stuttering: upgrading RAM as the cheapest possible upgrade method can do alot for loading and processing times.

Thanks for you replies. I will check out the Invasio Barbarorum.

I currently have 1gig of ram installed. The battle maps work fine for the most part. Sometimes there is a little bit of stutter when two large hosts engage but nothing too severe.

It's the campaign map that sometimes slows down, but I get what you are saying about how the EB packed so many goodies into the script that the engine gets bogged down.

I tried to play RTR because it is just a "cleaned" up version of vanilla and loads quicker and doesn't stutter at all. Don't get me wrong, I think those guys did a pretty decent job cleaning up vanilla, but...I'd rather deal with the longer load times and stutter and play EB. (hopefully MTW2's engine is more robust and can handle the EB's teams improvements better than this engine.)

Is there a way to add the vanilla music for Romani into campaign and battle map rotations; I like the vanilla music as well as the EB music and would like to have them both in the music rotation. Even though I'm fairly certain that "Divinitus" is nothing but babble, I like the "feel" of the *cough* quasi-latin lyric song in rotation on the campaign map.
