lol, calling a gal "chick: isn't exactly disrespectfull. :P They call us "boys", and "guys", and "dudes", and (in my case at least ;)) "hunks".

lol, I can kinda see their point with "babe", but not with "chick". I mean come one, it is like...so the equivelant of "dude"! :P

I call my wife and kid 'babe and baby' but I do so to her face. I wouldn't call a women a chick unless she identified herself as such and did so with sense of confidence and humour. I prefer a woman who is confident, intelligent and has class... chick typically just doesn't cut it.

Pape, I know what you mean and I'd personally call her lady.
I like something about that word, I think it implies style and class but also good humour and a great heart, undoubtably a view I got from certain movies but that's still how I use the term, at least for english speaking ladies.
In german we have different words though the english terms can be used as well but as someone said, girls also have names, that's an astounding fact. Nicknames just develop I guess, but as long as every chick knows I'm adressing her, it's all fine.

Also CrossLoper, that's a very nice piece of art you posted there and being such an artist you shouldn't have any problems with chicks.

I think he was referring to bi's and feminine straight guys. I don't know why you call them sensitive. A lot of the feminine guys I know are as mean as hell.
The reason why women like them is because they think they are more "understanding". I think that is all it is.
I really don't think my post is anymore offensive than how people wish to take it. ;)

I don't think this thread will last that long, if people keep spamming, but for those who didn't spam, great advice. Do not call your girlfriend a chick, she would probably like woman or girl better. Chick is kind of a crude word, I must admit. I rarely use it anyway.

P.S. I don't actually have a girlfriend, and I never did before. But I think that advice will help you out.

Judging by some of the comments here, I don't think that "aiming" to get "chicks" is too low, possibly about the right level. Not sure they could handle, nor want more.
