Default Tips for mountains on campaign map?

ok, ive got a reasonably accurate and workable map and now im trying to add the himalaya mountains. this is troublesome because every time i try to add them, they look awful. im not interested in making them passable for armies, i just want a long high mountain chain. does anyone have any tips/advice for creating mountains? also, how do you get a nice gradual slope? i get a sheer cliff, any specific color graduations that work well?

one other thing, the new area ive added to the campign map shows up much lighter on the minimap, how can i get this to be the same color as the vanilla minimap?

note: i dunno if anyone knows this but radar_map2 is actually for when you zoom in ingame on the minimap using the plus sign. it has nothing to do with the start campaign menu...

look up my (semi-)tutorial about making a map heights for making mountains
    https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=83714

If your radar looks brighter where you added new land than thats because you made the radar-map lighter over there (I've added some effects into my radar-map and these show up in game as darker spots, changing the background of your radarmap can have a mayor impact on how your radar looks and feels)

radarmap2 is known but beter said once again too many than one too few times ..;)
