    Default Noob question

Hi all. I'm new at this thread. I have played RTW for some time now, and in decided to try a mod. As i was browsing through the forums to see what are the best mods, it came down to 2: RTR and EB. My question is as follows: will my poor old PC will be able to run EB? (CPU AMD Duron 1.2GHz, 384 DDR, and 256 VGA). RTW works decent and also RTR if i disable the grass.
    Thanks allot!

I think it will be somewhat slow - if you tone down the graphics then smaller battles should run ok, but after elongated play (several hours) the campaign map will get laggy even on more powerful systems

I see. So what should i do:
    A) increase the RAM's- only thing i can do to this old system (motherboard won't leat me upgrade my CPU, and would that make a difference?
    B) Buy a new comp (witch could take a few months-not on the top of the priority list)

RAM and a new graphics card could do the trick, but getting a whole new PC is the best bet IMO

you definately need to consider to upgrade your ram. Afaik you need at least 500 mb better 1gig. If you want to do so look at the hompage of your mainboard producer what kind of ram is recommended for your board.

your graphik seems to be no problem if it handled RTW in good quality then it will handle EB in good quality, too (the battles at least). Do you know the name (nivida geforce blabal or ati radeon xyz)? Until recently i had a 128mb graka and had no problem with playing EB.

motherboard won't leat me upgrade my CPU, and would that make a difference?
Same as with the graka, the bottleneck in your system is the ram.

Same as with the graka, the bottleneck in your system is the ram.
The graphic card is i think a NVidia GeForce FX5500 (not the best there is- but my system is old).
So the quick solution is more RAM.
Next year i will buy a new PC, but until then i must buy me some RAM's (a full bucket of it)

Thanks guys. As always the .org never lets me down.

Yeah RAM's probably your best bet, although personally I wouldn't waste money flogging a dead horse though (well, not dead but perhaps going arthritic and blind ), just save your money and use the difference get a better rig when you get round to it.

If you are going to buy ram....buy some good sticks. Hi speed ram designed for game use will make an enormous difference. You'd notice a greater effect by buying a gig of hi-speed sticks like Corsair than you will by buying 2-3 gigs of some bargain basement crap.
