Is this greater detail gonna mean a significant boost in PC hardware (video card, RAM) requirements? I think I'm good, but just wanna make sure...

incredible..... , EB skinners have some fantastic talent , i wouldin't be surprised if activision employed some of your staff . The roman looks like he's carved by mother dido herself. I really hope that the karth dastim units will look this good.

Just looking at the picture and I noticed he is wearing his scabbard on his left hip. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I always thought the Romans wore it on the right.

The average legionairre wore their sword/scabbard on their right side, Centurions wore theirs on their left.

And IIRC this is only at 256x256; which is your standard EB texture size. (The family members are in 512x512, as are some horses.)

All officers are at 512 so this one is too if would've been pretty impossible to have this much detail at 256.

Not really. For these presentation images XPrime did not use 256x256.

It is quite probable that XPrime works with 1024x1024 images and then reduces them to the proper size (units 256x256 and generals/officers/standard bearers 512x512).
