Did you try adding a few more regions? Sometimes the game crashes on very complex regions.

@alpaca, I meant to ask you and this seems like a good point, when making a minimal starting map for M2TW is there anything hardcoded it must have?

I was recently trying to fix one for somebody and couldn't suss actual problem with modfolder, but did in the end make it work by copying idea in one of your stripped down maps and changed new map to using the internal name of the North_America province and also including all factions in strat as dead_until_resurrected. Not sure which of those elements fixed it or if it was something I managed to accidentally fix whilst making changes..... but it made me wonder if there were any 'must haves'.
Not used mods before? Looking for something small and fun?!

I'm not really sure, you need at least one province (which shouldn't be too complex) and one faction set up I believe.
Otherwise, you of course need most of the map files, the regions stringtable and some other stuff I can't quite remember

One mistake I made was not removing the papal_faction attribute from the papal_states which crashed the game some turns into a new campaign.

I keept 3 provinces (Europe, Asia and Africa) and the strategy map loaded. But when I look the map, it makes a CDT after some seconds. Do you think that's because thare is not egouth regions ?

You mean it crashes while scrolling? There's a lot of things that can cause it, missing strings in the /text files are some of them, otherwise I don't really know (I'm no mapper in fact so I don't have a large amount of experience with it).

I think that's because regions are too big.

Bug I have another problem :S. When I place a city in a region, it don't goes to the right place, look to GB for example :

Thats the first time that I see something like this. How is it possible O_O ?

Most likely you didn't align your map_regions and map_heights correctly.
