Whoa, hold on a sec here people.
Caius, before you jump the gun and get an LCD, you need to be sure that having one won't kill your eyes.
I have always used CRTs, right now I have a 21" Viewsonic G220fb, and love the heck out of it. Since my job entails staring at a screen almost all day long, I need something that is as easy on my eyes as can be. LCD screens, from both laptops and modern flat panels, are way too harsh for me, and using them for more than an hour or two always ends up giving me a migrane.
Recommend you try to see if there's some way you can have a 'trial period' with a good quality LCD to see if it's something your vision can tolerate, if not then you'll probably need to get a CRT.
