Thread: Updates of EB 1.0

    Default Updates of EB 1.0

First of all I would like to thank the EB teammembers for bringing us EB.

Now that the release of EB 1.0 is coming closer I was wondering if 1.0 will be the last major release on the RTW-engine. I presume the will be minor (bug)fixes. My second question; will these updates be safegame-compatible. I know you probably can't answer this.

My thanks again for working so hard.

With it being a completely new release I'm 99.9% sure it won't be save game compatible, eg. new units, new traits, etc.

I didn't mean to ask if 0.81 is compatible with 1.0 but if 1.x will be compatible with 1.0.

Considering they prob don't even know yet what exactly all the future updates will be it may well be difficult to answer?

Since every update will involve new units and new content of some sort, they are not savegame compatible.

1.0 is also not the last release. There are plenty more things that we have planned that will go into the next version(s). However, 1.0 is a major release and it will be 'complete' in the sense that there are no obvious gaps that need to be filled. It might not be perfection yet but it will be a very solid release.

Like it is now, critical stability fixes will be made available immediately in the tech help forum for 1.0. Depending on the nature of early bug reports, we may create a hotfix for other bugs too, but in general fixes and new features are only made in our proper releases.

I do NOT answer PM requests for help with EB. Ask in a new help thread in the tech help forum.
