If this has anything to do with MT2W, then you're posting in the wrong forum. Please try again, in the appropriate section.
Other than that, we will need to know what you are installing these patches and updates onto.
A) Medieval Total War (the "original" version)
B) Medieval Total War : Viking Invasion
(The "expansion pack", which requires (A) to be installed first and still in "out of the box" condition (ie not patched and no game-saves that you intend to return to as they won't work anymore)
So, in brief :-
Install (A)
Install (B), which converts (A) (and fixes its bugs)
Install the MTW:VI patch to v2.01 (if required by the mod you want)
Install the Mod
Install patches/upgrades to the mod

What is Total Realism? another Software? Didn't it install some new drivers on your graphic card?Originally Posted by avaya
Hi and welcome avaya,
EatYerGreens is right, perhaps the R:TW Mod Discussion forum would have been more suited for this query. However, may I suggest that you try asking at the Rome: Total Realism's official forums - I'm sure the guys over there would be happy to help you out. Hope this helps you, cheers!

BTW how is MTW? I heard the battles are insane? Should I pick up the game?
Well given that you're asking that question in the forum dedicated to MTW, I think it's safe to say most of us will certainly recommend it.Originally Posted by avaya

That said, it really depends on what you look for in a strategy game. MTW is definitely showing its age in terms of looks. So if you're someone for whom pretty graphics are the most important aspect in a game, you might not care for it.
However, if you like games that offer great atmosphere & immersion, numerous different factions thave have their own playing styles and tactics, and battle AI that actually offers you a good challenge, then odds are you'd like MTW.![]()
