Thread: Ice sculptures amongst the melee

Default Ice sculptures amongst the melee

Playing as HRE, I had some Norwegian troops trapped in a fort. I bombarded the fort with basilisks until a good amount of the enemy troops were dead, then I sent in my infantry to wipe out the survivors. That's when I noticed this:

It looked like many enemy troops were frozen in time, and had lost all color. My troops and enemy troops that were alive moved right through them. Have I discovered some sort of medieval freeze ray?

The only thing that I can think of is that there's some sort of glitch that occurred, and instead of sending the bodies of enemies that were hit by basilisks up in flames, they just froze and lost their color. I haven't noticed it since, fortunately. It's still pretty funny.

    Anyone else encounter anything similar?

You cannot slay the Norwegian warriors! You may destroy our bodies, but our souls will remain and haunt you foreveeeeeeer!!!

Interesting, but it doesn't look like they were frozen by the basilisk, because most of them are in battle poses like they are fighting melee. If they were frozen by guns they would be just standing there or flying through the air or something.

Texture errors, specifically with the skins.

Maybe it's a problem with the graphics card driver. I had a game come out with a redish tint on everything that was moveable because my driver was outdated.
You only experienced this once though, so who knows.

I had a simillar glitch which turned all the captain units into tin soldiers although it only lasted one battle so its ok now.

Gah, that reminds me of the Ballerina Splicers from Bioshock.

just a normal texture error - mine had submerged corpses from buildings and hills, silver Byzantine militias and HA plus some odd positions for other artillery-victims in customs battle. but mine was vanilla, with some files missing.

i will fix it once "the kingdom comes"
