Who will you play as in your first 1.0 campaign?

Will play as Romani. I have played AS and Casse very much and want to try something between.

Has anyone walked the historical path of the roman empire, conquesting to the exact dates?
I think I might try that, but I will need a historybook at hand though. :P

This will all change again as soon as the next teaser or two are released probably, although thought mighta been a few more Hay votes.

put it the other way around. 75% of folks wont play as Rome first. already a great trend and shows a lot. i personally didnt touch Romans at all just yet. but will after im done with my Eastern comrades.

agreed, teasers do effect our moods. if Foot released Hay reforms preview now they'd probably get twice the votes.
still, whats amazing is how popular Pontus turned out to be considering afaik there were no previews, teaser involving it at all. imo great credit goes to a money/mercenary balancing mod which allowed this faction to be even playable.

Yeah, you got the Sweboz up there too though, I guess even though these factions haven't had recent teasers or w/e the fact that they're both getting a lot of fleshing out (apparently!) in the new release could mean a lot of people may have wanted to try them for ages, and now finally feel they're complete enough, same goes for Saba, 8 votes is pretty good for a faction that I notice is often played just for a few years out of curiosity instead of for a proper campaign.

I might have to change my answer to Baktria, I really like the look of the Indohellenikoi Eugeneis Hoplitai, Sreni Pattya Yoddaha and the Hetairoi Kataphraktoi.
