Having trouble installing!!!!

I am a noob at this whole modding stuff, i cant seem to get eb to work every time i try to install it says it cant find rometw.exe i did a clean install, i have gold edition 1.5 already patched

-the only short cut that it gives me is called EOB8av2 and when and when i click on it, it says it is looking for rometw.exe but can not find it

-i cant seem to find any info on how i might be able to fix this, driving me crazy

-how do i get be to work? it looks amazing and i would love to play it!!

First of all, you could read the guide and pay particular attention to the paragraph of "destination"... In other words you have not installed EB in a RTW 1.5 install; or any other RTW directory you might have for that matter.

I put it C:\program files\Activision\Rome-total war\ and press ok and it just went to a loading screen - how would i be able to access my 1.5 install then? hmm was it a mistake to put it in their and instead i should have looked for something called a RTW 1.5 file folder instead? were would i find this folder in my program files? - like i said i am a noob at this : ) hmm ok looking at the guide here umm think i am getting it slowly i'll try again and hope it works- one other thing can i just run it or do i need to save it to my desktop, wait i think i get it now -crosses fingers

-Well I would advise you to simply reinstall everything; it's the easiest and most foolproof way. It takes some more time and effort however.

Make sure to follow the guide I wrote (post #1) very closely; and see if that helps.

I know it's not much fun; but the other thing would involve manually copy/pasting your EB files over the RTW directory... which makes it easy to screw up.

The third option is to run a search for RomeTW.exe in Windows Explorer; and see what folder the RomeTW.exe is located in. You should write that "adress" (located in a text field just below the menu bar of Windows explorer something which will contain a lot of "\" characters) down on a piece of paper. Then uninstall EB as I explained in my guide BUT LEAVE RTW IN PLACE. Then reinstall EB, but this time you've got to make sure it installs to the folder which contained your RomeTW.exe. Thing is: this to can go wrong; especially if you have multiple copies of RTW installed and mix one version up with another...

You are already taking my advice, even before I give it. I should learn to read.

So never mind, just go ahead with what you were doing...

Ok here is the one part i think i might be stumbling - for one i am not making a copy of my rome like it suggests, secondly it asks me where i want to install it i say c:\program files\activision\Rome-total war\ is that were i instal it on? Now when i click browse do i click on that file and say ok do i want it to go into another folder? for example you have it going to EB 0.81. Basically do i say say ok to the activision folder^ and then click yes and go next install?

It all depends. Where did you install RTW to? In other words which folder contains your RomeTW.exe? Because that is the folder which you choose to install EB to as well.

OK i shall try to find where it is then, is the folder called that exact name or can it just be RomeTW - is it possible not to have a Rometw.exe? for some reason cant seem to find it when i search all my files.

It can be anything. You choose this location when you install RTW, not EB. EB needs to be installed in the same place as you installed RTW. Use Tellos' advice to find the exact location.

RTW gold edition installs itself in "C:\program files\The Creative Assembly\Rome-total war\", so you must install EB in that folder, not in the Activision folder.
