    Default Roman Governor Teaser

Figured I would give you guys a glimpse of the Roman Provincial Governor system, since the Seleucid satrapies were previewed. In this shot, you can see the selected Governor has been appointed Propraetor of Corsica and Sardinia, because he had previously been appointed Praetor in Rome.

Awesome Stuff, even more things to do with the already full Romani faction

So what are the bonuses for this Ancilliary?

I hope the Celts get something like this, because I never play as either the Romans or the AS. Romans are just too predictable, and the AS practically have their Empire already!

I take it the ancillary in itself gives no bonuses but gives the trait, and if the ancilliary is taken away the trait is removed? Or have I got it totally wrong?

Actually, you only get the bonuses if your general stays in the province. If he moves away, even if he keeps the ancillary, the bonuses go away until he comes back.

Is Atiga a new city for Carthage? You can see it a little south of Sardinia.

yeah that was AFTER they changed these cities around.

yes Atiga is a new city, they previewed it a long long time ago, along with the new map textures and Babylon.

Yes, we know that, but what if he give his ancillary to someone ELSE? Does that person then get the bonuses.

Plus, anyone in his right mind would use his general somewhere else, not on two islands (of course we know Corsica is the most important of them all).

BTW, you guys didn't answer my question in teaser 4. Do we get to recruit generals? That would make the whole thing much more logical.

I have a question about Roman traits, when my Roman generals come of age I send them off with a more experienced general for 10 years to simulate the military service needed for a political career but they always stay as "green" as they aren't actually in command of the army despite the fact they often have a lot of battles under their belt. Is this going to change in the new build or are there hardcoded problems stopping it? Or perhaps you don't think it's a problem and despite having a lot of battle experience they perhaps don't have proper command experience?

Outta curiosity, what happens if the "owner" of the ancialliary thingy dies ? Or does anyone who qualifies and sticks around governing the province(s) in question simply get one equally ?

I and many others around the world are of the strong belief that the universe was created by a Flying Spaghetti Monster. --- Proof of the existence of the FSM, if needed, can be found in the recent uptick of global warming, earthquakes, hurricanes, and other natural disasters. Apparently His Pastaness is to be worshipped in full pirate regalia. The decline in worldwide pirate population over the past 200 years directly corresponds with the increase in global temperature. Here is a graph to illustrate the point."

Yes, they are transferrable, and whoever you transfer it to will get the appropriate trait if he goes to the city.

And if a character dies, the next character who meets the critera in that city will get the ancilliary and trait.

Aren't the criteria capturing the islands? So, giving them to barbarians and then getting them back?

    Yeh, I know, sorry.

Uh, no. Criteria are owning the appropriate territories that make up the province, and putting type II or type III gov's there, establishing a provincia. The general also has to be of a certain age, etc.

So....I assume you would have to destroy the gov's and rebuild them with the new guy in there? Or does simply having them in the city give your new gov the requirements?

simply having them in the city will suffice.
