I hope the Celts get something like this, because I never play as either the Romans or the AS. Romans are just too predictable, and the AS practically have their Empire already!

Lovely features. Why is EB so well developed??? I will keep constantly redoing my order of play list.

    Thumbs up for the team.

I think EB 1.0 is going to take over my life when it's released... I'll have to get a chamber pot to put under my desk....

I take it the ancillary in itself gives no bonuses but gives the trait, and if the ancilliary is taken away the trait is removed? Or have I got it totally wrong?

Actually, you only get the bonuses if your general stays in the province. If he moves away, even if he keeps the ancillary, the bonuses go away until he comes back.

Yes, we know that, but what if he give his ancillary to someone ELSE? Does that person then get the bonuses.

Plus, anyone in his right mind would use his general somewhere else, not on two islands (of course we know Corsica is the most important of them all).

BTW, you guys didn't answer my question in teaser 4. Do we get to recruit generals? That would make the whole thing much more logical.

Is Atiga a new city for Carthage? You can see it a little south of Sardinia.

yeah that was AFTER they changed these cities around.

yes Atiga is a new city, they previewed it a long long time ago, along with the new map textures and Babylon.

What are the positive attributes associated with having this other than taking up one of our limited and precious retinue slots?

I'd rather it were a retinue than a trait personally. Then one of them has them, I can basically determine who is the governor at that point.

That is, unless it won't let me switch them without meeting certain criteria, in which case, maybe they should be traits....

    Great stuff!

    Few questions:

    1. Will puppet rulers be able to get this ancillary if you only have a puppet ruler in the appropriate province?
    2. Are there only posts available for regions which the Romans conquered historically, or will you become a Governor of Arabia or whatever if you happen to conquer that part of the world?
    3. Does being Governor of Rome/Italy give any additional bonuses/is it different in any way to the other positions?
    4. If leaving the area you are governing removes the bonuses, have you made the bonuses go away for those "You have earnt the respect of the Lusotannan" etc. traits when you leave the area that they should be effective in?
    5. How come you can stay in a settlement without doing anything when your FM dies and the Governor Ancillary will be passed on, but you have to destroy and rebuild the Type IV Government in order to get a new puppet ruler when the old puppet ruler dies?
    6. Will any Romans get unique portraits at the start of the game?
    Cheers!
