EB team member's don't count . You've guys have been playing something that was 1.0ish for awhile and torturing us with little bits and piece .
Someone said we weren't all mean. So we try to fix that.
Arkatreides 00:13 10-12-2007
Actually, apart from firing up 1.0 for the odd stats/recruitment/reform/etc check I have had no experience with 1.0.
I think it is time to start a campaign.
I downloaded the 1.0 installer via ftp last night (as a team member of course) and started up a Getai campaign today. The first battle I was in I really was surprised, even as a team member: I bought a new cpu two days ago and now have a nice big widescreen and can up all the settings on the game too. It was raining, had thick grass everywhere, new (better sized) conifers all around the battlefield, and the storm clouds were new ones that I hadn't seen either - with tweaked lighting too. The new barb music was in the background with horns blowing as I marched, and the new getai general was leading the soldiers. It really was amazing for me. I just got to get a non-integrated video card now so I can max every setting out on the thing!

Yeah... beautiful isn't it?
oudysseos 00:27 10-12-2007
Teleklos you are now officially the Mountain Dew of Evil.
Still watching Bit Torrent

Ariovistus 00:43 10-12-2007
I'm just downloading it by torrent with dreadful 100kb/s.
Arrr...

A friend downloaded it with max. speed from Filefront, which won't give me more than 25kb/s. I'm so jealous.
In the middle of installing right now :)
KH here I come
pezhetairoi 00:56 10-12-2007
In the middle of installing now, Sweboz here I come. :) Do Sweboz get the Oppidum too? :D

That would be me friend. Don't get me wrong, you guys are quite ruthless.
I loved it. Waiting for the release was an experience in itself.
At the very least I've had fun talking to everyone since there is like 200 people in this forum right now.
pezhetairoi 01:08 10-12-2007
It seems that everyone who has nothing to do while downloading has gone to the tavern for a stiff drink or two, yep. Well? Well? Do the Sweboz get the oppidum? If not, I'm switching to the Hayasdan. XD
Bootsiuv 01:12 10-12-2007
Well I'll be there, considering I won't be playing 1.0 for a day and a half.
In the meantime, why not join the new succession game were planning? It won't take much of your time, and it's a good way to interact with your fellow EBer's.
Just a suggestion!
Landwalker 01:14 10-12-2007
Out of curiosity, what is this "succession game" of which you speak?
Cheers.
pezhetairoi 01:56 10-12-2007
I am in a position to be the first person to start a campaign and post about it, but then my install seems to keep CTDing whenever I try to initiate campaigns or custom games. I just uninstalled EB and RTW Gold, and am putting them back in again to see if it works...

I am installing this baby right now, only took around 35 min to download. Now it's the hard choice which faction to play. I was having a excellent KH game but it had kinda just taken off.....and I was thinking of playing Pontos in 1.0

All those hard choices
pezhetairoi 02:40 10-12-2007
Yer. I think I'll take Sweboz, after my excellent Roman game which was stopped just as I'd conquered Egypt and fought my bloodiest battles against the remnants of the Sweboz. All those high-attack and AP units are making me drool.
It took me only 31 minutes to download. It's the installation and loading that takes forever. o.o

It's simply a game where several people play a single player game. For example, you might play for 8 turns, then you save it, and pass it along to the next person, and they play 8 turns, etc.
It's also cool because everyone is assigned characters, and if you're character is the general in a battle, the game is saved and sent to you, then you play the battle, save it and send it back.
It also involves a level of roleplaying (acting like your character), and we have a council thread where everyone can discuss strategies and what to do next.
It's quite fun.
Landwalker 03:14 10-12-2007
That sounds awesome! Oh, the long-desired fantasy of diplomacy that makes sense, and opponents that, albeit challenging, behave in a semi-realistic manner... I'm most jealous.
Cheers.

Well, your welcome to
join!!
Landwalker 03:44 10-12-2007
Ah, interesting. I'll take a look at it, but I don't think I'll be joining. I thought it was more of a campaign-multiplayer type deal (something that I know is possible, albeit with great difficulty, in M2TW, so I assumed that this was the same thing).
However, one of your posts raises a question completely unrelated to everything. How does one edit that text beside their avatar? (e.g. yours says "Your Lowly Tavernkeeper")
Cheers.
pezhetairoi 03:50 10-12-2007
You can only edit that when you're a full member, then it's editable in your User CP section.
Bootsiuv 03:55 10-12-2007
Keep posting, you'll be a member soon enough.
I was a lurker for a long time, and didn't post much, so I was a junior member for a year and a half.
If you can't tell, I talk a lot now.
