In my Casse campaign in .82 I got a bit past this, basically with France taken, the Sweboz being just held off across the Rhine, and most of Italy down to Rome taken. Then I sort of lost interest because Rome was too poor to put up any fight but STILL kept getting a province back per turn through rebellion, and entering Spain meant building an entirely new army due to AoR issues.
