    Question no roman custom?

I am having a strange bug, the roman units or if im using a different faction, thier factional troops are not selectable in custom battles. All of the units that are selectable are very similar. If i chose auto select in the custom battle though , the cpu will chose roman units or the faction units but i cant select them manually. i did a install onto a clean 1.5. is there anything i can try to fix it?

This happens because RTW can only show 100 units in the unit selection screen on the custom battles. Because all factions have ownership over more than 100 units, it means many are left behind. So, we made a EDU file specially tailored for custom battles.

In the EB directory, you'll find a folder named "mp custom game edu". Inside you'll find the export_descr_unit files (commonly known as EDU) which are prepared to give custom battles the utmost accuracy in terms of unit availability.

All you have to do is backup the file "export_descr_unit.txt" inside the EB\Data folder and replace it with one of those above.

However, don't forget to replace back the standard EDU when you wish to play a campaign, or nasty things will happen.

Yeah, and you need to synchronize your map.rwm file.

*Everyone switches to the custom EDU
*One of you deletes his map.rwm and starts a campaign, then quits
*That one uploads his map.rwm for everyone else to download
*Everyone replaces their map.rwm with that one.

    Yes, it's cumbersome but necessary.

Technically you can, but with those limitations indicated above.

Since the EDU file is loaded right in the start, you can't have the full campaign EDU and the custom EDU in the same game session.
