MP seems to be broken

Which character set do you have? I notice that the files in question are binary (non-text), and I know some of our Chinese friends have had problems when using the installer on their character set, perhaps some others also cause problems. In their case, manually extracting with 7-zip seems to work, so you could try that.

The files under ./data that are "changed" are not from the EB installer. You should be able to restore those by installing a clean 1.5 RTW.

Have you tried to play mp with the RTW.exe instead of the bi one?

No madmatg no, MP does not "seem" to be broken MP "IS" broken.

I remember the first verions of .8 had a problem with the map.rwm, but that was solved in the last update of .81.

However, in 1.0 not only is the map.rwm messed up so is the unit roster of the factions.

Yes the name was chaged on the mp file but there are A LOT of units missing, especially with the Romani. Madmatg tried to put Classical hoplites in the KH roster but couldn't. I later checked the roster of some factions after mad added some units but heck there were still a lot of guys missing.

We will probably try again sometime soon and do some new teawking, and let you of the results. But if you fellas are going to fix this thing, PLZ do not forget about the units.

i think its all figured out now, im playing fine with boru87 over hamachi now, so that new map.rwm file seemed to have worked; on the topic of the validation tool, maybe something on my computer makes it act funny, everytime i run it(3 times in a row to be sure) it comes up with something different being changed or added, it seems to find different files everytime that are not correct, but i can still play on MP so my comp must be doin soemthing funy with your validation tool

That is really odd. It reads all the files and creates a checksum, matching it to that of mine. It shouldn't come up with different results on the same file.
