Hmmm... interesting question actually. Also good to know that my presence on the board hasn't gone unnoticed!![]()
Honestly, I'm just a 5th year undergrad applying to grad schools. I focus in biology, but am getting minors in chemistry and Latin. I'm really interested in the Hellenistic period - mainly because I cannot think of an era more exciting and dramatic. I read what I can and am an avid /. reader. I'm a geek too.
I guess I just know a lot. At the same time, I don't. Now Paullus and Urnamma... those guys make me look like a dunce when it comes to Hellenistic stuff. Granted, they are working toward their Ph.Ds, but still - no contest.
In the end, I just try to do what I can. I'm from the cynic school of mindset, but don't like it when factions don't get the credit they deserve. I ask questions and seek answers. I guess that is what makes me cool.
But hey, since you're a dad you can totally read to your kids stories of Achilles. Or better yet, Neoptolemos, who beat King Priam to death with his own grandson. I know I will!
Oh! I also want to be a superhero when I grow up.
