You cannot use special characters in the install path, where special means anything not US ASCII, for instance Japanese/Chinese/Norwegian characters. Try again with another path (yes you need to copy RTW there first), for instance c:\EB. Note that this also applies to your Windows username, since the installer temporarily works in a folder determined by your username. Create a user called for instance a and use that when installing to circumvent that. You can remove the user again afterwards.

    thx your answer,bovi

After once trying your suggestion, I am sure my path is no any "illegal characters", but EBV10.msi Still can't work.

So, maybe WindowsXP Chinese version can't read some path char (like á,è,î,õ,ü) at EB 1.0 pack?

In Windows Explorer, some EB file named like this:

    ^Look normally?

When I open file with a TEXTeditor (eg. uedit32...)

^you can see "illegal characters" at EB path.

    and, I set text codepage(Country codes? see http://msdn2.microsoft.com/zh-tw/lib...ee(VS.80).aspx ) = "Greece language"

    ^Look normally, again.

I think to be all of not- European characters language windows all have same problem with "code page",They can't are correct to run EBV1.0.msi.

Maybe EB TEAM can make a "unicode path ver" EB pack for not-European player...

OK, Can I manual install EB1.0 to origin RTW?how to do it? thx

Nice, the first correct help I've given since 1.0 was released . It does indeed seem to be a problem with Chinese character set. Let's hope it's the installer having the problem, and not the game!

Could you try to download 7-zip, and open the installer with that? Extract all files to your RTW directory. Then if it still doesn't work you can run the validation program that I just posted and see how it looks. Not confident that that either will work on a Chinese character set though .

Thank u very much Bovi , It's work. I just Extract all files (no via EB10.msi) to origin RTW dir, play, no error message!

In my guessing installer(EB10.msi) having the some char problem.

Ps. Origin RTW have a Official Chinese Retail version, I think RTW engine and EB main program is Completely compatible with not- European characters language

    thanks for your kindness.

Hello I had the same problems with the Asian languages and it is now fixed upon following your instructions. Thank you very much!

Also, is there anything I have to do after I copy the files into the RTW folder?

Well creating the shortcut... if you hadn't done so already:

    Target line: "Your\folder\whatever\it\is\called\RTW.exe" -mod:eb -show_err

    Start in: "Your\folder\whatever\it\is\called"

Yes, the shortcut was no problem, but I want to watch the intro video everyone is talking about! It doesnot seem to work for me.
Also, the speeches are still in English for KH. Is it suppose to be in greek? If so, how do I enable these two manually? thank you very much for your help!

ps. i played a little bit as KH and it was very good. the units look so much nicer for some reason, is it only the lighting that is changed or was something else done to make the graphics look nicer?
