    That might be. I'm fairly sure I played vanilla on all those patch levels. I've kept them around to have clean ones ready to copy for another mod, but running the game could make it generate or unpack those.

    I notice that the version.inf contains some garbage connected with RTW 1.2, so I'll add that too to the ignorelist:
    Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    [Version Info]
    ExtVersion=1.2
    IntVersion=54.0
    Language=255
    Branch=0.0
    QA=3615

    [Product Info]
    Platform=PC
    Product=Rome: Total War

    New version available that ignores the vanilla models_unit, custom battles and version.inf.

    why check the vanilla data folder at all? If it is a corrupt install wouldn't the problem lie in the EB folder only?

    Exclamation Re: EB installation validation

    For two whole days I have been trying to find an answer for my EB 1 CTDs ,
    I have posted this on TWC forums, but, I will do it again here .
    My prob is only the CTDs when I chose to play with a faction, custom and historic battles, when I go next I am out of the game with no message.
    So I look here and I used program that Bovi made and I got this:
    Changed file: .\rometw.exe

    What do I do to play EB 1 ????

    thank you for your time

    Definitely not. The most likely scenario is that they have installed in something that is not a clean 1.5 RTW. As long as the installer runs, it will have verified its own integrity and should therefore always give an intact installation, except for some of our Chinese friends apparently.

    Bovi, I ran that updated version, and now the results are down to:
    Code:
    You seem to have a corrupt install. There are changes to files, or some are missing.
    However, these may be conscious changes you have made, to remod EB. See below for details.
    ==========
    Changed file: .\eb\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign\descr_strat.txt
    Added file: .\eb\custom\previous battle.cbt
    Added file: .\temp\battle.rpy
    First file is correct, but those other two files are the result of me playing a custom battle (which I hadn't done when I first ran the validator). Might want to skip them too

    Maksimus:
    I was able to play EB previous versions just fine, I dont see a reason why it should not work now? Unless there are some changes in the way EB 1 is installed onto my PC

    Thank you for you time
