Has anyone had problems with archers not firing?

In my first battle I eventually noticed that though my Cretan Archers were going through the motions of firing, and the firing icon appeared in their unit card, they weren't actually shooting any arrows (nor was their ammo going down, nor were they killing anything)

At first I thought it might just be a Cretan Archer glitch, as it didn't happen for a few battles with other types.

Then today I noticed my Heavy Bosphoran Archers (who look amazing, btw) had the same problem. The strange thing is, I moved one unit across my line to attack enemy flankers, and suddenly they were able to fire (and kill).
I moved the other unit, and they were able to fire also.

Does anyone know what could be causing this? Is it positioning? (it shouldn't be, as javelin troops posted behind the line can fire, as can most other archers)


As for the other title - I've noticed Indo-Greek Hoplites (bactria) still have no spear. I haven't checked, but I suspect similar units (the hypaspists last time?) had a similar problem.
Not a big deal, just thought I'd mention it (and hope someone kindly fixes and uploads the animation )
