Its not that the head is large, maybe 0.5 larger, but the helmet makes it look so, and will, naturally. EB's other units' helmets are probably slightly too small, actually, and it looks jarring in comparison.

yep both the helmet and the face are big. Just at the other guys next to them. First look at both faces, one is bigger and more detailed (u can see the nose and lips clearly, u can also see the cheekbone, etc) the other is smaller and less detailed. And once u put the helmet on top of a larger face, then u get a larger overall head.Originally Posted by Zaknafien
Now it is true that the helmet make the head look bigger, but the hamata and the extra padding on the shoulders also make the body look bigger. And that fixes the proportions a little but, but since the new legionaries face is also bigger, then u don't get that "fixing" effect from the armor. Here look these fellas:
Btw.. what measure is 0.5???? mm???? anywho there is one thing about proportions, especially on faces, a mm off and the picture ends up kinda "off".
You know I think the heads are actullay the right size. I remember my kevlar was "supposidly" fitted, lol it made all of our heads look huge. Fact of the matter in my opinion is that the new heads are "to scale" but the again i only had to year that helmet for 3 years and talk to 3000 other joes who also thought that the helmet was too large and this was in the 2oth century with armor made of modern materials....poor legions had to go down to c.i.f talk to some supply nco and hear "bronze helmet check, leather check, move"
"but sarge this thing dont fit right"
"figure it out and move soldier"
again these are just my thoughts
yea but Kevin Mcckid is over 6 ft tall. Ancient roman was like 5 foot 6
dang it that is NOT what I am refering too.![]()
We are talking about HOW WIDE the shoulder and head are. Not how tall a man is.
You can be tall or short it doesn't matter. What dictates wheather or not your head looks "too big" is if you CANNOT fit 3 of them from shoulder to shoulder.
Zak was pointing out that the helmet also made the head look bigger, but I also pointed out that the armor and EXTRA shoulder padding tended to neutralize that effect. Hence the pic of HBO
Look at the new legions, the face detailed caused their head to look bigger. IF there is a way to make the face smaller while keeping the detail then it will be great.

HBO Rome isnt helpful for an argument in EB :) lol
The wearing of mail also will make someone look thicker, stockier, like a paunch around the belly because it has to be worn loose. Most units in EB with mail probably portray it a little too tightly, actually.

I know zak, I was just using it as refence to the effects of mail.Originally Posted by Zaknafien
