Default No camillan military era in Italy ?

I've started a campaign with the romani, and despite having access to type I gvts in Taras and Regium, I can't build campii (sp ?) there, likely because these provinces do not have any Camillan Era building.

Is it normal ? After having a look at the tech trees available on the site, I understood that CME Campii were build-able in every province with a type I gov.

And sorry if this has been asked a billion times, I've never played with the romani, I'm not completly used to their recruitement system.

Nope, you have to have the Camillian reform marker in your provinces, only your starting provinces + Segesta have this marker, you have to wait for Polybian reforms to get all of Italy.

Right, you cannot recruit Roman units in southern Italia or Cisalpine Gallia until the Polybian Reforms.

For the first periode I would place a Level IV Gov. down there even though these are 'homelands'. You will be able to raise a classical Greek army in these towns, what isn't the worst to have on a battlefield.

For roleplaying reasons I even go a step further and don't raise Camillan Roman units (Leves, Hastati, Principes, Triarii and Equites Romani) in Capua and Arpi but stick to Samnites, with Rorarii as replacement for Hastati and Accensi instead of Leves, and now the new Campanians as cavalry

The Roman troops also represent the Italian regionals who fought in the same manner, so they can be trained and represented as such from those cities.

Yes, I see. The idea is that in the early and middle 3rd Century there still would have been a lot of older equipement around; especially armour was passed from generation to generation and sometimes was a century or more in use. Thus the Roman Legions of that periode would have looked much less uniform, with soldiers from different cities appearing in their traditional 'outfit' and sometimes sligthly different equipement.

To represent that, I raise different units in Capua and Arpi, where I raise between 1/4 and 1/3 of my Camillan 'Romans'.
