Default I haven't been attacked once in 80 turns

My Romani campaign is in 252BC, I am at war with the Aedui, Carthage and Epeiros... and none of them have made any attempt whatsoever to attack me, even though they appear to have plenty of units (I used toggle_fow). I have also had a grand total of one rebel stack spawn in my lands, but it didn't attack me either.

It just isn't as fun when I am the one who initiates every battle. I actually want to be invaded, it'd certainly make things more interesting (and should happen when you're at war with powerful factions). I really remember being attacked much more in 0.81... have I just been unlucky or is this how it is for everyone else too?

I also noticed a full Koinon Hellenon stack standing next to Thermon for about 15 years without any movement. KH/Makedonia/Epeiros have been at war with each other for 20 years, but they just aren't fighting at all. The same stacks stand almost motionless for years.

I know you guys are severely limited by hardcoded AI routines, but I am just wondering if something was changed to somehow make the AI less aggressive. I have been seeing full stacks standing next to rebel/enemy towns for dozens of turns without any movement whatsoever. Just so you know, I am playing on VH campaign/M battles.

Also, I don't want you to take this the wrong way; I love the mod, but I just want to let you guys know how things are going in my campaign, which I assume you want to know since you just released a new version. Feedback is usually a good thing..

Haven't the AI taken any settlements either? You can expect a lot of action later, particularly after 240BC.

Having problems getting EB2 to run? Try these solutions.

Some settlements have been taken, but overall things havent been too active. One exception is Carthage, who have conquered much of Africa. But they never attack me, which sucks.. I want to fight. :(

I've been waiting for swarms of "barbarians" to swoop down upon me, or an invasion from Carthage or Epeiros, but it just didn't happen. And Epeiros had a full stack just across the sea from Taras but they never invaded in 75+ turns.

Most factions have had huge stacks just standing next to rebel settlements for dozens of turns. Or huge stacks standing around doing nothing, when an enemy settlement is 1 turn's march away. Again, I know there probably isn't much that can be done, but I just thought I'd let you guys know how things have gone in my campaign.

It really seems that the AI is reluctant to initiate a siege, even if they would win. This is the scenario I've been seeing a lot as I've been looking around while playing with FOW off. Huge stack, enemy town with small/medium garrison but no siege. I always keep all my units inside my cities. Maybe if I leave some outside of the cities that would make them more willing to attack..? I don't know, I am just trying to figure it out. 80 turns is a very long time to go without having a city ever come under siege. I really like a challenge, so I actually want to be attacked in full force... :)

I was thinking about trying BI, so it appears now is the time to give it a shot. How stable is it with EB 1.0, though? Does it seem to work OK with it?

So far it's working fine for me, I've only played til 240-something BC so far however, so I'm really just getting started.

I've seen just the opposite, looking around with FOW. In my Epeiros campaign, Koinon Hellenon attempted to lay siege to both Chalkis and Korinthos after I captured them from the Macedonians, and Rome besieged Taras three or four times before finally capturing it. Aside from anti-player assaults, though, Carthage has expanded to most of western Africa, and although Rome has only managed to capture Bononia and Taras, they've laid siege (and unsuccessfully assaulted) Segesta no less than four times so far. The Saka have almost wiped out Pahlava, and both the Sauromatae and Baktrians have done a fair bit of expanding of their own.

    Cheers.

It's interesting that I have not seen the described kind of AI activity even with the BI.ex (been playing on H/M or VH/M).
I must say that I've been playing with BI.exe from the moment when Rome Total Realism Platinum was released, on through EB 0.8, 0.81 (it's too early in the campaign to judge the 1.0 version yet) and I have seen absolutely NO changes in AI behaviour. Well, I have noticed some subtle ones, like smarter reinforcement logistics, but otherwise I have yet to see the AI land one unit on my territory. I do remember Carthage reinforcing Lilybaeum with units - once. That's all.
I'm playing Carthage now, and it doesn't look like much changed. Except for some reason rebels now dare to attack cities (?!), which causes more annoyance than harm.

I'm playing 1.0 with Barbarian Invasion, as Romani, it's 248BC and the AI has been going suicidally berzerk on me almost the entire time. I'm playing on campaign difficulty VH and, after running the Epirotes out of Italy, I conquered Taras and Rhegion, only to have the Koinon Hellenon land a staggering force of 2 units next to Taras (which was garrisoned with 5) and besiege it. ;) Carthage came after me next, also invading Italy from the sea but just the same using tiny 4-5 unit stacks which is not threatening at all, just annoying. Good old hardcoded TW AI there I'm sure.

The Epirotes, after agreeing to a peace treaty, are the only faction so far to land an enormous full stack right in between Roma and Arretium, however they just stand there and don't do much besides occasionally going to stand next to Arpi instead, then right back between Roma and Arretium.
