Thread: Oppida

    Cool Oppida

Last night I attacked Arsé, This was the first time I saw the new oppidum, the barbarian “stone” wall in 3D on the battlefield, without the Arsé oppidum crash posted in another post. It’s really great work!
I approach the wall with ladders, just like I do with other normal stone walls. First thing I mentioned that the casualties during the approach are much fewer than at the approach of a normal stone wall. Second, when my soldiers take the wall towers they stop shooting unlike the wall towers of the normal stone which gonna shoot at the enemy after they are taken. (The enemy was inside, I don’t know if the wall towers do shoot at enemies outside.)
It seems to me that the oppidum act more like an original wooden wall in stead of a stone wall. Am I right? and is this the way the oppidum used to act?

First, install the oppida fix bovi just posted in the bug reports section, second it was grafted on the structure of a eastern stone wall so whatever that wall is capable of the oppida should be too.

Some walls (such as the 'african' stone wall of the Carthaninians) don't have murder holes on the inside of gates. So if you take the gate and there are enemy soldiers nearby but inside, they would not be shot. The other towers on that particular wall work as normal however, because they do have murder holes. So the question I ask you (because I have yet to see an Oppidum wall in action) is, does the inside of the wall have holes for archers to shoot out of?

    Cool Re: Oppida

I've take a closer look to the oppidum towers and as far as I can see there are two holes at the inside of the tower, the same as the two at the outside. (see picture)
