A few questions

New to the game and I am playing out my first Imperial Campaign as Brutii. I played the short campaign and won but chose to continue playing so that i could see the post-marian units and see hwo the late game might look.
I was wondering though, if the Roman civil will still occur? I did not want to start the civil war as i wanted it to be a surprise but so far nothing. My popularity with the plebs just maxed and my popularity with the senate is plummeting despite completing all missions so far. Can i do something to trigger that civil war?
Also a quick gripe. Why oh why can't i destroy farms? I can understand roads being pemanent, it is very difficult to unbuild a road. But shouldn't we be able to "salt the Earth" somehow. Those crazy Egyptians just want to breed like bunnies and i am about to let them rebel so i can go back in and enslave some of them.

Yep, the civil war will still occur in its usually grand fashion, whatever the situation. Although I'm quite surprised you can't declare it yet - full popularity with the people should be enough to proclaim your hostilities.

May I ask if you have ever had the "Chance to Power" message occur? If you have, then you should be able to attack/break alliances/remove treaties with the other Romans as if they were simply a "regular" bunch of misfits. Just incase you've missed it, you may want to attempt targeting your Roman foes to see if the attack is possible.

If it isn't an available option, and you receive the typical error message. Then I'm rather confused as to what could be causing the problem - I'm sure there aren't any bugs related to the triggering of the civil war in any versions of the game.

If you cannot attack Rome based upon your popular support (through the "Chance to Power" message), then you may have to wait for your senate popularity to drop low enough for them to decide that your faction leader is not worthy to live. This occurs when your popularity is about two shields or below.

If this is the case, then you will receive a demand for suicide from the senate. Say yes, and your faction leader dies, biding you more time till they make the request again. Say no, and you are outlawed. If this is the case, the senate declares war, and the other Roman factions often turn against you.

You can't destroy farms as they are unbreakable buildings in game, so you can only have full stack of peasants as garrison and good governor with high law or influence, build proper temple with higher law, etc.
Also you 'd better exterminate all pop in a settlement instead of enslaving.

But if know how, you can easily increase happines in EDB for governor buildings, so you will have about 300-200 % happ. all the time!

And as far as I know roman AI will tend to attack you as far as they have needed popularity with masses, or immediately if there is no senate presented in campaign (no "superfaction").
Sometimes it is possible to begin war using assassin...

You really should be able to destroy farms. It would make sense.
