    Default Xanthippos bug

Some of you may have seen my other thread about Xanthippos; this thread here is for something different that I encountered.

After my defeat at the hands of Xanthippos, I of course wanted revenge. A few turns later I moved in to attack him, and to my surprise not only was there one Xanthippos in the opposing army, but there were two!

One had 56 men, and the other had 17 men. Clicking on either of them brought up an identical list of traits, and their portrait is the same, too. Also, neither of them had Spartans for bodyguards; clicking on either one brought up the card describing the Carthaginian cavalry bodyguard, and it said it had 17 men in the unit, regardless of which Xanthippos I clicked on.

I thought this information might be useful for debugging and if necessary I can upload a save game which has this Xanthippos "clone". I did start the battle, but I didn't see any Spartans (I could have missed them.. it was a huge battle), I only saw the cavalry bodyguard.

    Here are two screenshots:

Interesting. Too bad the "ebst scripter" just got to sleep.

Well thanks for your help and we will try to solve it as quick as possible.

No problem. Considering the massive amounts of changes that were made, I have seen very few bugs, so you guys did a great job.

A few more notes about Xanthippos in my game; I have engaged him twice before in Sicily, and in both previous battles he did have a Spartan bodyguard. He won the first battle, with most of the Spartans being killed. The next battle, he had a much smaller force and his unit actually routed without ever engaging anyone. The rest of his army stayed, fought, and died, and I won the battle. (One of my "Client Rulers" was in this battle too, and another Carthaginian family member was killed in that battle). I'm just trying to give as much info as possible about the circumstances surrounding this "Xanthippos clone".

And again thanks for the info. I know it would be of great help to get rid of this bug.

I'm actually still awake Ed, I haven't finished what I need to do yet tonight.

mighty rome, please upload your savegame.

In the meantime, a little info:

    How old are they?
    What year is it?
Can you find these guys in your family tree?

This is truly weird. "The" Xanthippos has a bodyguard of Spartiatai Hoplitai. But Xanthippos is a legal Qarth name, so we can have others popping up randomly. They would have the normal Qarth. bodyguard. But two at a time?

I can't upload files to the forum, maybe I am too new. (I knew I should have joined a long time ago.. I've been playing EB for years :)

Anyway, here's a link to the savegame, I uploaded it to some random site I found that lets you upload files:

The two Xanthippos's are near Lilibeo. They're 45 years old, and it is spring, 251BC. He is most certainly not in my family tree. (I am playing as Romani :)
