I'm aware that (from previous threads) you lot are supremely disinterested in F1, but what the heck.
Ferrari and Kimi Raikkonen are 2007 World Champions!
Going into the last race in Brazil with the faintest of chances, Kimi had to win the race and hope Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso in the hitherto dominant McClarens would hit problems. And boy, did they hit problems. The most competitive season for years had the final standings decided by just one point between the three.
Kimi has always been a fast driver, but unlucky when he drove for the silver Mercs. Now he's a Ferrari man, we seem to have changed his luck. I'm very pleased for him and for us adding another World Champion to the roster.
Commiserations to Lewis, who drove an extraordinary first season. (And to the English, who just lost another championship this weekend). Alonso's proven himself to be a bit of a brat, so I don't have any sympathy for him, and unlike the English rugby team, this outgoing champion gave up with a whimper. (How I wish even more that Michael had done him last year...)
OK, I'm sorry. Back to your regularly scheduled Frontroom...
