We all know, more or less, what the Romans yelled before they began to slaughter all the folks standing in front of them, and thanks to some of the threads in EB, we know that their battlecries weren't yelled in english or pseudo-latin, despite what hollywood and RTW vanilla might have you think![]()

What I'm wondering, though, is do we know what Punic battlecries were? I mean, surely Hannibal's troops would have yelled something no doubt inspiring (at least to themselves) before getting to work at Cannae, or even at Zama. I imagine there must be some info on this on the web, but so far my googling hasn't turned up much of anything, so does anyone here on this forum have any idea about what authentic Punic war-cries would have been?
BTW I know this thread isn't mindless trolling regarding historical facts, whining about bugs in the mod, debating the pros and cons of spears and swords, or saying my-Romans-aren't-as-tough-as-they-used-to-be-boo-hoo. What can I say? I'm just a non-conformist that way![]()
