Now, for the Lynching:
Dr. Shlin XXVIII was having a bad month. He was glad to join the lynch comittee, even though it meant that Susan Johnson had to reschedule her appointment. For you see, he was angry at the mafia. They made him a vaery busy man, and some of his good friends, even his brother, have been killed by the violent gangs. He was forced to treat a gunshot wound in his niece, now that brought tears to the old doctors eyes. So, as he sat there, trying his best to get his fellows to vote honestly (for god's sake, were they just wanting to see a man hang! Any man!) he wondered who was going to bite the bullet. With some conversation early on, he thought the poor man Sarathos was going to die, but talk about him stilled pretty fast, so the doctor did not have a clue who was going to die. The thought never occured that it could be him. Around 4 PM, Shlin settled off into a comfortable nap, only to be rudely awaked about two hours later by the Mayor, who was saying his name into a microphone. Rubbing the grit out his eyes, he heard the mayor cal his name again. Thinking they might be asking to testify, he got on his old feet and hobbled up to the mayor. (I say hobbled because his fot fell asleep on him) When he got there, he was a little frightened that the mayor pulled out a gun, though he quickly dismissed it as that he was preparing to shoot whichever poor soul was selected. It happened to fast for the old man, the mayor twisted his arm, and fired off a round. Dr. Shlin had no time to think they were lynching him, as his thoughts were ended prematurely by the bullet.
